Fukujuen Uji Kobo
The Uji Kobo is located in Uji, the source of Japanese tea and the place where Uji tea culture has been handed down from generation to generation. Across the scenic Asagiri Bridge and Nakanoshima Island in the clear waters of the Uji River, there are two stores: the Ujicha Kobo on the right bank, and the Ujicha Tei on the left bank.
The Ujicha Kobo (on the right bank) is a workshop that preserves and nurtures traditions, with a tea-making experience and cafes where visitors can enjoy meals and sweet treats made with tea. Visitors can also shop, take a tour, and enjoy Uji tea culture.
At the Ujicha Tei (left bank), visitors can enjoy a "short break" and a "short experience" while admiring the view of the Uji River and the mountains of Uji.

Making Matcha Tea with a stone mortar
This is the most popular experience for international customers.
You can turn a stone mortar to make freshly ground matcha powder, and then make and drink the matcha yourself.

Fukuju Saryo Cafe - 2F
Fukuju Saryo Cafe offers a set menu of chasoba (Japanese tea noodle) and rice, standard chasoba, and sweets using matcha and hojicha green tea.
You can enjoy your meal with Asahi-yaki pottery, one of the seven famous kilns in Japan.

Gyokuro Tei - 1F
Gyokuro Tei serves meals and sweets that use gyokuro, the most advanced type of Uji tea. The cafe features a thatched building and has a modern Japanese atmosphere. The Uji River is right in front of the restaurant, offering a different view from that of Fukuju Saryo on the second floor.
